ศุภนุช ศิริญาติ อายุ 21 ปี เกิดและเติบโตที่จังหวัดนครศรีธรรมราช ปัจจุบันเป็นนักศึกษาชั้นปีที่สี่ คณะจิตรกรรม ประติมากรรมและภาพพิมพ์ สาขาประติมากรรม มหาวิทยาลัยศิลปากร
ศุภนุชมองว่าการทำงานศิลปะเปรียบเสมือนการรักษาแผลทางใจ จึงได้เริ่มทุ่มเทให้กับศิลปะอย่างจริงจัง และใช้งานศิลปะในการถ่ายทอดความทรงจำและความรู้สึกต่างๆ ภายในจิตใต้สำนึกของเธอ ในช่วงแรก เธอมุ่งมั่นทำงานศิลปะบนกระดาษเพียงอย่างเดียวและประสบความสำเร็จเป็นอย่างมาก จนทำให้เธอได้รับทั้งคำชื่นชมและรางวัล นั่นคือ รางวัลเหรียญทองในงานศิลปหัตถกรรมครั้งที่ 68
ในเวลาต่อมา เธอกลับรู้สึกว่าตนต้องการที่จะหยุดพักจากการวาดภาพบนกระดาษ และต้องการให้ผลงานศิลปะของเธอมีความเป็นรูปธรรมมากยิ่งขึ้น ซึ่งเป็นช่วงเวลาเดียวกันกับที่เธอเลือกเข้าศึกษาในสาขาประติมากรรม เธอจึงได้หันมาทำงานประติมากรรมเป็นหลักแทนในที่สุด
ศุภนุชเลือกใช้ไม้เป็นวัสดุหลักในการสร้างสรรค์ผลงาน เพื่อแสดงออกถึงความชื่นชอบที่เธอมีต่อธรรมชาติ และยังแสดงถึงความเชื่อมโยงกับความทรงจำวัยเด็กก่อนจะย้ายออกจากบ้านเกิดเพื่อมาศึกษาต่อที่กรุงเทพฯ
ผลงานประติมากรรมของศุภนุชสร้างขึ้นมาจากองค์ประกอบหลักสามอย่าง ได้แก่ สภาพแวดล้อม รูปทรง และจินตนาการของเธอ และได้รับอิทธิพลมาจากแนวคิดของจูเซปเป ปีโนเน (Giuseppe Penone) ประติมากรชาวอิตาลีผู้มีชื่อเสียงจากงานประติมากรรมขนาดใหญ่ที่ผสานความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างมนุษย์กับธรรมชาติเข้าด้วยกัน
ศุภนุชมีความใฝ่ฝันที่จะเป็นประติมากรหญิงของประเทศไทย แม้ในปัจจุบันจะยังมีประติมากรหญิงเพียงไม่กี่คนที่ได้รับการสนับสนุนและชื่นชมในสังคม ด้วยวิสัยทัศน์ที่แน่วแน่ตั้งแต่อายุยังน้อย ทำให้เส้นทางในอนาคตของเธอนั้นน่าจับตามองเป็นอย่างมาก
Supanooth Siriyart, born in 2001 in Nakhon Si Thammarat, is a fourth-year student in Faculty of Painting Sculpture and Graphic Arts, Silpakorn University.
Supanooth began to develop her interest in art as she reckons that the process of making art is considered as a healing process. She utilises art to display her reflection on her subconscious memories or feelings. In the beginning, she intended to only progress her artistic skills through work on paper, since it led to many of her achievements during high-school years, such as a gold medal in The 68th Student Art and Crafts Competition.
Later on, she aspired to make her work more multidimensional and decided to major in Sculpture.
Supanooth uses wood as her main medium, which indicates her admiration for nature and her sense of belonging to her childhood environment back in Nakhon Si Thammarat, before moving to Bangkok to attend an elementary school by herself.
Her series of sculptures consist of three main components; environments, shapes, and imagination. Furthermore, the idea is also influenced by Giuseppe Penone, an Italian sculptor, who is known for his large-scale sculptures which revolve around the relation between man and the natural world.
Supanooth has a strong will to become a Thai female sculptor as she believes that there are not many female sculptors being acknowledged in Thai society. With such a vision in this early age, it is thrilling to see what her future holds.
