Working primarily with antique Jim Thompson textiles for RESONANCE,  Julie H.C.  explores the contrasting nature of what is familiar vs. what is foreign, as seen throughout her study of textile history and contemporary feminist ideology. In this exhibition she shines light upon Thailand’s handicraft heritage and silk legacy.  Drawing from a cross-cultural life shaped between Korea, Europe, North America and Southeast Asia, her artistic language reflects a sensitivity to both heritage and modernity.
