The Unknown Masterpiece of Honoré de Balzac
Published by Éditions Espace_L, 2021. 136 pages. Preface by Dominique Baqué. In French.

Julien Spiewak found that sentences in Balzac’s story ‘Le Chef-d’œuvre inconnu’ seemed to describe his ‘Corps de Style’ images. The first part pairs quotations from Balzac with museum photographs in which artworks meet parts of the human body. The second reprints Balzac’s full text with Spiewak’s marginal annotations.
