About Peter

Peter Yuill, born in 1984 in Ottawa, Canada, obtained a BAA in Illustration from Sheridan College in Toronto, Canada in 2009. Presently, he resides and operates in Hong Kong.

Yuill engages in intricate geometric abstraction, an artistic approach that reflects his quest to comprehend the essence of existence through the purity of mathematics and geometry. His creations blend meticulous and intricate ink drawings and paintings on paper. Yuill's unwavering commitment to executing all the work by hand and his profound involvement in every aspect of the artistic process highlight his deep meditative and spiritual connection with each artwork.

Yuill's artworks have garnered recognition from various corporate collections, including The Wharf, Jones Lang LaSalle Hong Kong, as well as private collectors from prominent cities such as New York, Los Angeles, London, Milan, and Hong Kong. Notable collaborations include the Peninsula Hotel, the Parisian, and the Swire Group. He has also exhibited his works extensively across North America and Hong Kong. Recent displays include his participation in the grand-scale group exhibition titled "The 14th Factory" in Los Angeles, California, his solo exhibition named "The Absurdity of Meaning" in Hong Kong, and his involvement in Art Central HK.

On view from June 29th to July 27th, this exhibition will mark the artist’s first solo presentation in Thailand. Featuring intricately hand drawn geometry, this thematic presentation of sacred geometry is an interpretation of deep mathematical connections that exist in a universe where mathematics, physics and astronomy are not mutually exclusive to spirituality. Yuill, who is known for precise drawings, pursues an articulation of the dichotomy between the divine, the random, the perfect and the absurd.

His upcoming exhibition with West Eden in Bangkok will bring together a series of new works that explore his fascination with the mesmerising moons and storms of Saturn. Yuill will also be presenting a large scale mural work that reflects his roots as a counter culture kid along with an associated multimedia screening of his process.
