Copenhagen based-Chilean artist Marco Evaristti was acquitted of vandalism charges for dyeing Strokkur hot spring with red fruit dye, reports the National Broadcasting Service.

In April 2015, the artist poured 5 litres of red fruit dye into the famous geyser for his installation ‘Pink State’. The act upset many Icelanders who accused the artist for defacing Iceland’s delicate nature. Eventually, Geysir’s landowners reported Evaristti to the police, accusing him of vandalism.
